Description

This strikingly colourful painting is from Watson's 'Net' series, inspired by a period spent on the remote Fijian island of Vatulele.

A knotted mosquito net, an image which became an iconic symbol of this popular series hangs to the viewer's left, counter balancing the young islander in the foreground, Kuva who holds a canoe paddle and looks out over pristine ocean.
